Imran Khan made his debut as a cricketer in 1969 with the Lahore "A" Cricket Team; was appointed Test Captain in 1982, scored over 25 first class centuries and over 65 five wicket innings; played World Series Cricket and in the MCC Centenery match at Lords 1987; and won the World Cup 1992. He is known both for his right hand bat and as a right arm fast bowler. He now devotes a considerable part of his time to raising funds for the Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Lahore, dedicated to the memory of his mother who died of cancer.
Imran Khan was born in Lahore and educated at Keeble College, Oxford. His hobbies include playing squash, swimming and listening to Eastern and Western music.
